Hokanson Dix Glass is a studio based in East Hampton, NY. For decades, the duo behind the studio, artists Bengt Hokanson and Trefny Dix have worked collaboratively to create their distinctive blown glass vessels and mixed media sculptures.
Hokanson and Dix have lived and traveled in various cities, throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains and deserts of the Southwest, and along the shores of Long Island. In their practice, the artists use various techniques and color palettes to share stories about these diverse environments. Hokanson and Dix blend classical Italian, Scandinavian, and other glass working techniques with weaving techniques found in traditional textile work, layering impressions of these places into their glass sculptures. Their work is represented in private collections and galleries across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia.
“We’re so grateful to show our work at Craft + Design again this year, especially as the anniversary year’s Featured Artist.”
