The Craft + Design Education Wing presented by Richmond Family Magazine is a free, family-friendly, art-making space that gives Craft + Design guests the chance to explore the art media taught at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond.
Presented by Richmond Family Magazine, the Education Wing welcomes guests of all ages during general admission shopping hours to visit 6 different art-making stations and create projects with guidance from VisArts’ teaching artists. Each station is dedicated to specific media like clay, fiber and metals. The Education Wing will also include a VisArts Market selling VisArts gifts and handmade items. This unique space is in the lower level of Main Street Station and is open to all ages and friendly to all skill levels. It is free for the general public to enjoy as well as Craft + Design guests!
In addition to the Education Wing downstairs, our Demonstration Station on the stage in the center of the show will include live artist demonstrations throughout the weekend as well as Clay Olympics at 2pm on Saturday, where teams of VisArts pottery teachers and studio monitors face off in a series of clay-themed challenges!
